Khao Lak: Khao Na Yak Sightseeing & Snorkeling Small Group

2.Khao Na Yak Sightseeing & Snorkeling Small Group

★★★★★★★★★★4.8 · 95 reviews · 4 hours · from $64Best value

Spend four hours around Khao Na Yak on a comfortable pontoon speedboat, with two snorkeling stops, a quiet beach, possible monkeys, fruit, drinks, and a chicken-and-rice lunch. Guides such as Nai and Barry help beginners in the water, while captains Gau and Mr Don handle the boat. Pickup is available from Khao Lak hotels, not Phuket.

“Nai was an amazing guide, he took great care of us on and off the boat, was friendly and outgoing, and just overall improved our entire day! His English was great, and he was always either engaging with us or the other couple on the boat (small groups are the best!) and giving us tips on the reef and also the local highlights. The corals, while perhaps not the most impressive we’ve seen, we’re still beautiful, plentiful, and mostly unbroken. Huge numbers of colourful and curious fish, and some very grumpy moray eels! Would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys snorkelling and is a great intro for first timers.”

4.Surin Islands Snorkel Tour by SeaStar Andaman from Khao Lak

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 42 reviews · from $112

SeaStar Andaman provides hotel transfers, gear, park fees, insurance, breakfast, lunch, fruit, snacks, coffee, and water. Guides such as Moana and Emily have received praise for attentive group care.

“The snorking is awsome some of the best we have ever done . The island are beautiful and live up to there reputation. However there are 2 things that let the trip down . The boat layout was terrible and we were crammed in like sardines what is weird is the boat looked new and was definitely very sea worthy and the 2 other boats with us from the same company had proper seats but for some reason SeaStar 11 has a bench running round the perimeter that is too narrow and too far off the ground with a vertical back board. So you legs dangled with the support ending…”
